About
I’m Andrea and I’m all about creating strong bodies and healthy minds. Whether that is with my family, my students, or with the athletes and individuals I work with, I believe in promoting clean eating, mindfulness, daily movement and outdoor living.
I have been an elementary school teacher for over 15 years, both in the classroom and as a Phys Ed teacher. And after seeing the benefits of a daily yoga practice on my own body, I decided to take my practice to the classroom by completing my RYT 200 hours certification. I also took my Reiki II certification at the same time to add a further dimension of mindfulness and healing to my practice. I am part of the Yoga Alliance and qualified to teach private and group yoga classes.
My love of the lake and the Great Canadian outdoors led me to take my practice to the water, qualifying as a SUP yoga instructor in Spring 2022. I just love how SUP yoga combines the benefits of ecotherapy and mindfulness with some pretty intense core and balance work! It’s the perfect summer activity.
My Mission
Health and wellness have always been an important part of my life. Growing up I was heavily involved in competitive team sports and running. Now, as a mother of two, our family lives a healthy lifestyle through clean eating, daily movement, and outdoor living.
I’ve always appreciated the benefits of yoga for managing my stress levels and overall wellbeing. But once I committed to a daily yoga practice I immediately saw the impact on my physical health. My body became stronger, more flexible and I was experiencing less injuries.
I believe in a truly holistic yoga practice; one where we work together to evolve your mind and body so that you are able to make more informed decisions about your health. Everybody is unique, with their own strengths and limitations. My approach to yoga is for the whole self, and incorporates breathwork, visualization, and mental training for focus, with powerful athletic yoga positions to help you and your teammates reach your fitness goals. Together we will increase balance, flexibility, focus, and strength to improve performance and avoid unnecessary injury.
